Trading and Investment Research Specialist
After spending four years with the United States Marine Corps, Felix Alvarez was ready for a change of pace. In 1999, he shifted into the financial services industry, landing his first industry job with Charles Schwab. At Schwab, much of his focus was on operations. From reviewing investment documents to opening accounts, Felix maintained a wide-range of responsibilities, all of which prepared him for the career to come.
From there, Felix went on to join the team at Pershing. Between 2007 and 2010, and as a client service liaison (and eventually business analyst and project manager), his focus was squarely on clients. He later returned to Pershing in 2014, where he worked for three more years before joining the FMC team.
At Pershing, one of Felix’s primary duties was to build and maintain client relationships — something that went far beyond a simple job description. Working with clients, then and now, served as a driving force behind Felix’s passion for financial services. Ask him what he finds most rewarding about working in the industry, and he’ll keep his answer to the point: “Helping people — helping them achieve their goals.”
Today — as FMC’s trading and investment research specialist — Felix continues to pursue that passion. As he sees it, a client’s money can represent their ambition. It’s what allows them to pursue their own dreams and achieve their goals, especially during retirement.
And it’s not just clients who serve as a driving force behind what he does. Felix is driven by his family — his wife and two kids, 15 and 11. He’s also active, playing various sports, including football and volleyball, when he gets the chance.
